Tyga Opens Up: Says Drake is Fake, Talks Why He Had to Take a Break From Chyna & More

Young Money seems to be one of the tightest crews in the game. The artists are forever repping their set, with very few instances of any one of them showing unhappiness with the way things work over there. We've heard rumors in the past about Drake being unhappy at times, money issues, people not seeing checks, but that stuff usually comes and goes..until recently.

Tyga has been with YM for years. He explained that it was his relationship with Lil Wayne that got him in the door. He's recently expressed a lot of frustration with his label though. He's vented on twitter about them holding his album up, he's mentioned not seeing money that is due to him, and now with his latest Vibe interview he's talking about not seeing it for the two biggest artists on the label. Here is what Tyga had to say about Drake and Nicki Minaj:

Is Young Money a part of the creative process on this album?Nah. I tend to distance myself from them.
Are you trying to break out on your own?Yeah, I’m tryna’ go independent. I don’t really get along with Drake. I don’t really get along with Nicki.
Why?I don’t like Drake as a person. He’s just fake to me. I like his music; you know what I’m saying? I think his music is good, but we’re all different people. We were forced together and it was kinda’ like we were forcing relationships together. It is what it is. But I been friends with Chris [Brown] for like six years. That’s my real genuine friend. We hang out all the time. He lives up the street from me, so we don’t just do music we hang. I think being signed to Young Money, everybody felt like they had to force a relationship ‘cause Wayne put us together. At the end of the day the reason why I signed to Young Money is because of Wayne. Not because of Drake, not because of Nicki. It was because of Wayne and my relationship with him. I try to be cool with everybody, but sometimes, everybody just has different personalities, motives, and different characters. When you realize that, you realize that’s not a place where you want to continue to grow.
Now, why he mentioned Chris Brown, I have no clue, but it's obvious that Tyga has a lot to get off of his chest regarding his label mates. After his recent tweets, Nicki Minaj unfollowed him, and others on the label responded. I don't understand expressing dislike for label mates in this situation- it's pointless. You don't have to like the people you work with. Most adults go to work everyday disliking their coworkers.

I think the bigger issue here is about not feeling like his label put in the work for him as they've put in for others. That's a higher up issue.. air that out. I think people change so much over time that you don't want to burn any bridges that you absolutely will need to cross. It's obvious that Tyga doesnt feel like business is being handled properly over at YM, and he's probably got good reason to feel that way. I just don't think an insult to label mates publicly is the way to go at this time.

YM artists weren't the only people Tyga opened up about. He discussed his true friendship with Chris in detail saying he visited the singer while he was in rehab. He also said it's nothing but love between him and his son's mom Chyna, but basically that she had some growing up to do and he felt like she didn't appreciate what he brought to the table. He said she's making improvements now. Lol.He also said some pretty questionable things about black women not having examples. Oh Tyga, history and present day are jam packed with influential black women. Please.

The industry is grimy city, everybody knows that. Tyga has been hurt and thats obvious. He's definitely unchained in this interview and used this time to get a lot off of his chest. Hopefully the timing for this type of candid delivery is right, and it doesnt ruin his chances of taking his career to the next level. I think he's getting in good with Kanye, so maybe he's leaning towards GOOD music. Who knows? We will have to wait and see.
