The ALS ice bucket challenge has taken over most social media outlets. People are having a lot of fun while raising awareness and money for the rare disease. We've witnessed some of everybody in the public eye carry out their challenge. From George W. Bush to Kevin Hart, so many people have participated and posted their videos.
ALS stands for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. The ice bucket challenge is meant to create the same sensation felt by the many people suffering through this illness- if but for a moment. This is sort of the genius behind the movement.
The videos have been hilarious all while increasing the donations to the ALS foundation ten fold! Out of all of the videos, this one by photographer Anthony Carbajal is absolutely worth a post. There have been so many questions by pessimists as to why people are doing the challenge, why people aren't just raising money, why people are simply jumping on a bandwagon..
Carbajal's video puts this whole ice bucket thing into perspective. He's not just throwing ice water on his head for fun, he actually has ALS. This video will make you laugh, and it may make you cry, but you will have a better understanding of why this movement for the ALS foundation is so special. Please watch the video in full.
S/o to my baby brother Xavier for showing me this video! Love you Yay!
