Soul Train Recap: Performances, Fashion, and K. Michelle Reaches Out to Tamar Braxton

The Annual Soul Train Awards were in full swing last night. All the groove of soul music and the glitz/glam of an Awards Show collided as today's soul music artists united for a good time. The ladies were gorgeous and the men stepped out looking handsome as the show kicked off.

It was a big night for female artists as K. Michelle, Tamar Braxton, and Janelle Monae were the most talked about of the night, and among the big winners. K. also happened to be among the best dressed of the night in my opinion as well. I loved her Michael Costello gown. See who else shined on the Red Carpet over at FashionBombDaily.com!

Even more surprisingly- K. Michelle took to her twitter account to congratulate her long time rival Tamar after her win in an effort to squash their beef once and for all:

I respect that move on K. Michelle's part. These two women are rocking r&b right now. No need to not get along. Tamar has yet to reply, but I'm sure she'll be a grown woman about it and accept her offer.

As for the performances, man.. they were good! Some of the sweetest voices soul music has known in the past few generations hit the stage. We also got performances from some of rap/ hip hop's favorites as well. As for the tributes (which happens to be the Soul Train Awards strong point in my opinion) the night's honorees were Keith Sweat and Dionne Warwick!

It truly was a great night. Check out the performances below:
