Solange Sings Nivea's Laundromat in a laundromat

So, our friends over at True Exclusives were among the media lucky enough to be at Solange's show last night in Brooklyn. Solange's show is a part of Fader Magazine's new Uncapped series. The beautiful songstress performed in a laundromat for fans and media. For some reason- even though it's weird- it's perfect.

Solange sang a few songs from her latest releaseTrue, LP and fans/media dug every moment. I witnessed people in my timeline going crazy at how beautiful and on point Solange was. In what just seemed like a perfect move- Solange also did a cover of one of my favorite songs from back in the day, Nivea's Laundromat. Check that out below. This is such a cool idea!

YASSS!! TLC Rocks the Mixtape Festival Stage Last Night with Lil Mama

Chilli and TBoz hit the stage last night at the Mixtape Festival. It was a huge performance for the legendary group members for many reasons. TLC fans who have been riding with them from day one are anxious for all of the cool things these ladies have coming up. We should be getting new music from them soon. They also were hands on with the new movie about their career set to air on VH1 that looks like it's going to be SO good (ironically Keke Palmer is also in this film).

Last night at the festival TBoz and Chilli shut it down. These women are still handling the stage just like they did 20 yrs. ago. Do yall SEE CHILLI?! This is insane. I feel like I'm going back in time. She still looks the same and is still moving the same. Crazy. T Boz broke it down for us at the end of the below video and went in as well. Who said they no longer have it?!

In the below video they also bring out Lil Mama during Left Eye's part of No Scrubs- to much controversy. Many people had much to say about that move. Thankfully, for the 100th time, TBoz and Chilli both address those people and their rumors in the below video as well. Check it out! Man.. go TLC!!!!!!!

Yes. Keke Palmer Can Sing!

So the cutie patootie actress Keke Palmer shocked a few people yesterday with a short IG video singing Rihanna's Half of Me. A few people in my timeline had no clue that Keke not only acts, but she's also a recording artist with a beautiful voice.

Keke has released a couple of records- one being my JAM  You Got Me ft. Kevin McCall (see below video) . She also recently starred in a movie- Joyful Noise- where she showed off her chops as well. A little while ago she did a cover of another female artist- Alicia Keys. Keke sang If I Aint Got You as if it were her own record.

I've been keeping an eye out for what this girl is up to since the Akeelah and the Bee movie. I tease that she looks like the love child of Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne. She does right?!! She embodies their talents as well. I'm absolutely certain  that this gorgeous & fun loving girl will be around to steal our hearts for years to come. I have high hopes for her career- in music and film.

Too Cute: Jay Z Surprises Beyonce on Stage in Philly (Video)

Jay Z and Beyonce are easily considered on top of their game. The adorable thing is, they are handling their business separately, but seem to be even make more of an impact- just by being together. The two have been married for a few years now, and have been together for what seems to be forever. Many wondered from the beginning if the bad guy and the good girl would work out- well it seems they are doing just fine.

Quick to show one another support, these two have managed to juggle being some of the biggest stars on earth and each others' biggest fans. Just last night Jay Z surprised Beyonce on stage, and her reaction was priceless. It's really encouraging to see a couple who seems to still be happy to just be around each other. They're so cute! The quality isn't great, but check out the quick little video below!

Elliott Wilson's Exclusive with Jay Z #FactsOnly

Jay talks a little to Rap Radar's Elliott Wilson in this exclusive interview. Elliott sat down and spoke with Jay about his latest album Magna Carta, Holy Grail and his career as a whole. In the interview, Jay speaks highly of Justin Timberlake, he talks about the approach to their tour, and how working with anybody is easy for him. Jay says he's a chronic collaborator, and that music is just.. music to him.

Jay speaks on drawing inspiration from art as a whole. He also talks about his creative process on this album, and a lot more in Part I of this exclusive with Elliott. I personally love when he opens up about how he really feels about Billboard's stance on his approach with this album...check it out below.

Chris Brown ft. Nicki Minaj- Love More (Explicit)

Chris Brown released his third single from up and coming album X. Love More,  is the latest release and it stays true to what you'd expect from a collab between Chris and Nicki Minaj.

If fans and critics are wondering what Chris has been up to in while waiting on a release date for X, the singer has been spotted in inner cities giving back. He and his Symphonic Love foundation gave out  over 1000 pairs of shoes to inner city children in need through their WE US (Walk Everywhere In Unity’s Shoes) campaign just this last week.

This was one of many times in the past few years Chris has been spotted out actually being about change in inner cities. I'm sure fans are in a hurry for the album to drop, but I'm also sure they're proud of the humanitarian work Chris has been doing.

Love More was previewed at this years BET Awards, it features Nicki Minaj. Check out the explicit version below, available on iTunes.

New Video: Kelly Rowland- Dirty Laundry

Kelly Rowland released her new video for Dirty Laundry today. The single from Talk a Good Game in stores now, resonated with many fans when it was released a while back. In the record Kelly explains her battles with relationships and her insecurities.

She opens up about the contrast in her personal struggles at the time Beyonce's career was taking off. Very sticky stuff, but honest and sincere. Her video for the single is just as vulnerable.

New Adorable Photos of Beyonce and Blue Ivy

Listen!! This is the cutest thing ever. Princess Blue Ivy has grown up so much and so quickly! She's so tall and fashionable! These candids of her and mommy Beyonce in Miami have made their rounds on the internet and everybody is saying the same thing- how precious! Bey is currently on her Mrs. Carter tour, but that hasn't stopped her from mommy duty!

Blue's face is not shown very often, even though we all know what she looks like from a few recent photos from papz. Her parents still practice a lot of discretion when releasing photos of the little lady. She is without a doubt both Bey and Jay's child- she looks so much like the both of them.

See photos Bey released of her and her little girl below. Also on this mini vacay were Bey's mom, sister Solange, nephew Juelz, and a few others.

If your favorite drink happens to be apple juice, read this!

Apple juice is one of a child's favorite drinks, and many of us still choose it for breakfast. It tastes good when it's ice cold, right?

Is There Any Good in @ChrisBrown?

Be Advised this is Loooooooooooong! -venting.. no apologies it's my site..carry on. xo

Well if you go off of what the media portrays your answer- though ignorant- may be a strong no. I held off a few days on blogging Chris' most recent positive endeavors. I wanted to observe a few things like- what outlets posted it with no tainted ending, what stories did Chris & his team share on twitter, and how did the fans react?

Chris Brown is known for a lot of things. As a celebrity it's really easy for media to pick at or pick through celebrity lives to display whatever they'd like. Chris is one that media (for the most part) has chosen to paint a rather disturbing picture of.  Of course he has played a role in creating some buzz, he doesnt always make the best decisions, but for the most part Chris Brown is just an easy target. His mistakes are made public, known, easily accessible to millions of people- unlike our mistakes.

We've all had moments when we let our emotions get the best of us. Chris has a lot of these moments. Ironically, his twitter outbursts and relationship woes get way more media attention than the real life changing things that he does regularly. Chris has his own foundation that aims to encourage the arts as a healthy means of expression for young people. The Symphonic Love Foundation has provided food, educational supplies, health resources, scholarships, time (with Chris), and more to many people in need. As amazing as that sounds, you probably wouldn't think "charitable " at the mention of Chris' name, because many of these stories get pushed to the side for the "juicier" ones.

How is this possible? Well, once the media paints a picture..they cling to it. IF someone is going to write about his charitable work they make sure to mention something that was done wrong- to maintain the picture. His fans in their fury often circulate these stories for lack of knowledge and understanding of how the digital media world works. So, while they feel they're helping him, they are often just circulating more tainted news of their favorite celeb. I only know of a few major television outlets that have captured or featured Chris' charitable work, and none at the pace at which they'd featured his low moments.

Are we as a society this drawn to negative energy? Do people really only see Chris as a tainted soul? Is Chris Brown that easy of a target for the drama thirsting media outlets? I'm not sure what the answer is, it may be a combination of all of them. What I do know is, this negative media trolling of Chris is not getting us anywhere. It cannot be mentally healthy for a person to endure such public scrutiny and backlash while his positive efforts are ignored. Has society not gotten enough of raising our celebrities to God like status and then condemning them to hell when they turn out to be human just like us?

One can only pray that celebs like Chris have something solid and stable to hold on to. One can only hope a counselor or a Pastor, or a mother is there to advise. It would be ideal for Chris to never respond to a negative story and promote the blogs that constantly criticise him, but in my experience in watching this young man mature..he isn't there yet. Chris is a very sensitive person, and he seems to take everything to heart. My advice is that he relinquish the media part of his twitter account to someone who can professionally run it.

I'd love to see him come on twitter and only attend to his loyal fan base by interacting with them and answering questions. I'd love to see him support some of their personal blog stories about him. They are the people who follow him the closest- not just when he's having a moment of poor choices.I'd like to see him stop lending his celebrity to some of the same blogs/media outlets that tear him down consistently on the rare occasion they want to get hits with a positive story. I'd like his fans to flat out ignore the social media stunts of these outlets. If it comes down to needing to defend Chris.. hit up the comments sections of these write ups with links from positive stories. It's really that simple. Sucks we can't always have what we want. :)

I believe that Chris Brown is one of the best artists this generation will ever know. He's just uber talented on many levels. I believe he's a bit down in spirits after such a long battle of public scrutiny, but even all of this is opinion. On the flip side of that, the charitable efforts consistently put forward by Chris (who often involves his fans to assist) are hard facts. Shoes on the feet of kids- hard facts. Giving scholarships- hard facts. Volunteering regularly with people with disabilities- facts. Providing health resources to millions of fans on a fun and interactive site- thats a hard fact. Inspiring young people to press through their difficulties- thats factual, bloggable, and uplifting information.

I'm sure that someone would argue that he's only doing it because he has to.. Well I don't know how much of it he "has" to do. I do know that when time from the heart , food, clothes, school supplies are given to people who REALLY need them- I do know that the "why" means very little. He's probably done/doing more than you to help someone else..which is another blog...

We are a very critical society when it comes to celebrities. We've developed this well accepted practice of building them up to only tear them down and laugh while we're at it. This has been true for nearly all of the greats of our time. I'm not sure how much longer Chris Brown will be making music, or a positive impact where he can, but I hope it's for a lot longer. I hope he can navigate through the media's obsession with his mistakes with a mature attitude. He's got everything else it takes to come out on top. He's got a lot more to learn at 24. Im sure with time he'll figure the important things out, but the guy deserves a fair shot at life, failures, mistakes, growth..all celebs do.. all humans do. Furthermore if you're coming from a good place "reporting" his lows, then you will absolutely jump at the chance to report his highs.

As for the media outlets anxiously awaiting his next bad decision, he's made a few good ones. Visit, I am sure you'll find something nice you can say about this young man there. xo

Jay Z Okays Guru to Release Dead Presidents 3!

In the most random of random moments (you may think) Jay Z took to his twitter account today to chat with fans. Among the questions submitted was one inquiring about when we'd hear the final version of Jay's classic Dead Presidents (3). Jay said over twitter that he thought either Just Blaze or Guru had it, and he gave them the right to drop it today.

Shout out to Guru for doing just that. You may notice a few of these lines have been used on other songs. I'm too excited, this record will always be a  favorite of mine.

New Video: Mario ft. Nicki Minaj- Somebody Else

This is so my jam. Mario released this track with Nicki Minaj a while back. It's his first single from his brand new project, Restoration. Mario is one of the most underrated artists in the game in my opinion. He has consistently released great music, and solid albums. Somebody Else is such a great track over all. Now, peep the visual with he and Nicki above. This joint goes off!

Brandy Performs Do You Know What You Have Here Live in Japan (Video)

Brandy was captured by TrueExclusives once again, performing a fan fave from her latest album. The song Do You Know What You Have Here is a stand out on her album Two Eleven mainly because it's SUCH a read! For those of you who don't know what that means- she's basically speaking the truth in it.

Silent and TrueExclusives had the honor of being in Japan with Bran on a short tour she did recently. This footage is from her performances there. Yesssss Brandy!

Brad Pitt's Supposed INCREDIBLE Story on Loving a Woman (Angelina)

Brangelina is among the most popular of celebrity couples. The gorgeous Brad Pitt and the gorgeous Angelina Jolie are even more gorgeous together. Almost as popular as their working careers is their decision to be a family. The couple has adopted and birthed a combined six children. The two have been together for a while now, with no marriage, but it appears that their like for one another is still very solid.

Angelina just made a very brave decision earlier this year to undergo a double mastectomy-removing both of her breasts to avoid breast cancer. The way Brad Pitt publically stands behind her may be one of the reasons the below quote has been so well received as real. Many red flags were raised when I read it- mainly that they are not married. So, this quote may be something somebody made up.

I haven't wanted to blog it because I'm not 100% sure that it is actually from Brad, but this morning I realized- that's the least important part. Brad (or whoever said this) has a very clear understanding of the way a woman can be built or torn down by the man she loves. This is brilliant.

“My wife got sick. She was constantly nervous because of problems at work, personal life, her failures and children. She lost 30 pounds and weighed about 90 pounds. She got very skinny and was constantly crying. She was not a happy woman. She had suffered from continuing headaches, heart pain and jammed nerves in her back and ribs. She did not sleep well, falling asleep only in the mornings and got tired very quickly during the day. Our relationship was on the verge of a break up. Her beauty was leaving her somewhere, she had bags under her eyes, she was poking her head, and stopped taking care of herself. She refused to shoot the films and rejected any role. I lost hope and thought that we’ll get divorced soon… But then I decided to act. After all I’ve got the most beautiful woman on earth. She is the idol of more than half of men and women on earth, and I was the one allowed to fall asleep next to her and to hug her. I began to shower her with flowers, kisses and compliments. I surprised and pleased her every minute. I gave her a lot of gifts and lived just for her. I spoke in public only about her. I incorporated all themes in her direction. I praised her in front of her own and our mutual friends. You won’t believe it, but she blossomed. She became better. She gained weight, was no longer nervous and loved me even more than ever. I had no clue that she CAN love that much.
And then I realized one thing: the woman is the reflection of her man.
If you love her to the point of madness, she will become it.
Brad Pitt
Basically, you can love a woman back to life. I believe that..if you're man enough to do it.

2013 BET Awards Performances- Charlie Wilson Tribute, R. Kelly, Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar ft. Badu

BET's annual awards showed aired last night. If you missed it, you missed a few great performances. BET packed the house out with collaborative performances. My personal fave was the tribute to music legend, Gap Band member turned everybody's favorite Uncle to collab with, Charlie Wilson. Uncle Charlie's tribute was one of the best I've ever seen. My girl India.Arie kicked it off in a major way (sidebar, she just dropped an album Songversation)! I was literally up dancing my tail off.

BET also had an Island set featuring Dawn Penn! I was hype! They also had R. Kelly who basically stole the show! He took a short trip down memory lane! Many many more artists performed. It was a great night for Kendrick Lamar who gave one of the best acceptance speeches I've heard. Our boy J. Cole performed a fave of mine from his album- Crooked Smile. Tamela Mann took us to church.  Overall it was a great night of performances and great energy. Check most of the performances out below!
