CNN just posted that his brother was found dead in a residence in New Jersey and that his father lives elsewhere. USA Today also reported Adam Lanza's girlfriend and friend are missing in New Jersey, the police have taken in Adam's older brother Ryan in for questioning and one unidentified person was found dead in a different location. Adam targeted his mother first then shot at students in her Kindergarten class.  Stay with us for updates on this tragedy.

Here is the video of President Obama's remarks:

President Barack Obama gave a short address saying the nation has to come together in the wake of the senseless tragedy. With tears in his eyes, President Obama said, "Our hearts are broken today. These children are our children." We admire the strength and empathy of our president who stood before us as a father, a human being sincerely concerned about the well being of this country.

A Facebook page by Lanza said he lived in Hoboken. Unconfirmed reports stated the gunman wore military-style assault gear and shot most of the victims in a Kindergarten classroom. Witnesses reported hearing 100 shots. Law enforcement officials have secured the scene at Sandy Hook Elementary School where a gunman killed 20 students and 8 teachers and staff this morning. The shooter is dead and it has been confirmed that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to news outlets. Now officers are searching for a second gunman.

This incident is the latest mass shooting in the United States. Earlier this week, a young man entered a large shopping mall in Portland, Oregon, shooting and killing two people before killing himself. At Sandy Hook, the gunman was inside a classroom with children when police received a call just after 9 a.m. Emergency units and officers from several law enforcement agencies swarmed the school as children were being hurried out by teachers and staff.

Apparently, the gunman was also inside the principal's office where the principal may have been the intended target. The principal is dead, as well as a school psychologist. Several children were transported to the hospital. Two handgunds have been recovered from the scene. All public and private schools in Newtown are on lockdown because of the incident and afternoon classes have been canceled.

President Barack Obama is receiving constant updates on the tragedy and extends condolences to the families of those affected. It is the worst shooting in a U.S. elementary school in recent memory and exceeds the carnage at 1999 Coumbine High School shooting in which 13 died and 24 were injured. Please keep the victims and families of this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers!
