(see tweets assembled by a fan below...) I am not making this up..
I've only just looked at the first video so far, but I love you for this. Especially saying that it does not fit into the media's mold!! I wrote something to respond to another outlet this morning, but I figured they're already on "her" side, so it's basically a waste of words. I'll post it on here when I am done watching your second video. YOU ARE VERY ON POINT.
ReplyDeletePS: I follow U on Twitter and admire you and the way U handle topics maturely and unbiased - qualities very rare in your line of work. It's more about sensationalism to most.
(A bit long, but I need to vent/rant)
ReplyDeleteI've been following this since yesterday, and as a mother of two kids, one being a little Black boy child being raised in the white man's suburbs - I have the same take on this. Thinking of this overnight has gotten me enraged so forgive me if I sound angry – I am.
Granted I am not a fan of Chris’s behavior. I like some of his music... I believe he needs positive people and some guidance in his life…and Lord knows more therapy...but...
At first reading the tweets yesterday I was like, “What the hell is Chris Brown ranting about this time?”. I was ready to judge him for him impulsiveness and ability to let people get under his skin. But when I saw a screen shots of HER tweets over the months, I realized how abusive she was being towards him.
White America is forever asking us Black folks to forgive and forget about slavery, but they take whatever chance they get to go hard the past 3-4 years at this one black man for his ONE biggest crime of his life!! They have never given him a chance to redeem himself, and it doesn't seem like they want him to because he’s not “sorry enough” in their eyes. He hasn’t apologized enough - What would be enough?
Maybe y’all should let Chris Brown know what he can do to EARN his forgiveness from y’all…since it seems y’all are the ones wanting blood and an apology for him hurting y’all so bad.
I don’t care if Rihanna forgave him, even if she DID NOT, it’s not my place to have him begging ME for forgiveness, he didn’t do anything to me personally. I can’t gauge remorse from someone I don’t interact with and know personally – can you?
I don't know how Chris's mom sit back day by day and deal with it, because no matter what your position is in life, no one has the right to badger and come at U like that on a daily basis - tweet, after tweet after tweet!! If someone came at any of my children like that, even if my kids were the world’s biggest criminals – it’ll be hell and consequences...Grace and class can only carry me so far! We don’t have a right to judge each other. We don’t have the right to judge other people’s children. All we can do is raise our own in the right way and hope they don’t fall victim to negative influences, and hopefully become well-adjusted, law-abiding members of society.
Seems like everyone wants to be judge, jury and executioner in Chris’s case. I was driving into work this morning and thought about people who take animals from the wild, put them in their homes, and when they get mauled or their kids get killed by the same animals they want the animals put down. When things like that happens, who gets the blame? The owner of the pet for endangering the welfare of the kids. If U know someone as the tendency to be explosive and has anger issues, why would U constantly poke at him to get a reaction? I know Pit-bulls are sometimes dangerous, if I constantly poke sticks in their mouths and they bite me – who am I to cry?
I never understood people that come on social media and BULLY people thinking it’s appropriate. Now she and her supporters are crying about death threats… whatever! I can’t say I didn’t read through the praises for her and the barrage of hate for CB last night and wished bad on her…not death, but I wanted her on some level to pay and feel what she’s been putting that young man through.
Just because I am a female, does not mean I can say negative things I want to a MALE person and have it be OK because of my gender. Then cry foul and play victim when he calls me out my name and says the same disgusting things back to me.
If someone calls me a piece of sh*t, trust me I'll show them how much of a piece of sh*t I can be! Y’all talking about "he needs to be mature" and "ignore/block". Heck, I'm grown, an educated professional and even if my very own MOM came at me that way, constantly put me down, called me out of my name, and have something negative to say about everything I type/say – I can’t guarantee that I won’t disrespect her! We all have our break point.
She's a comedian? Domestic abuse or abuse of any form is not a joking matter. This is the kind of society we live in? And we want to blame kids for going to school and shooting up when they are bullied, when a grown woman on Twitter does it and gets a pass? I wonder how Jenny would feel if someone forwarded a screen shot of all her tweets towards Chris to her kids so they can see what a good example to society she is? People are also saying that Chris should have blocked her...he DID IN April and she tweeted that also. But sometimes people tweet and re-tweet thing onto your time line.
ReplyDeleteAnd the media is all over it about "Chris Brown ATTACKS"... I can admit that I am turned off by some of his behavior lately, and as disgusting as the things he said sounds, I agree with him that based on what I've seen her tweeting him for months, that she's a pig, a bitch and a H-O-E!! Yes, HO-E with an E... (I dare someone to grammar check me)!
With all this said, if the people ranting about Chris’s DV case put those energies into actually helping Domestic Violence causes, maybe the world would be a better place. Focus on victims, not the offenders. I’m sure half of them never visited a DV web site or building. If I was so passionate about a crime committed and it affected me that deeply, I’ll seriously look into helping the victims instead of being on the Internet badgering the offender.
If we all started putting ourselves in CB’s situation and thinking of him as a son, brother, friend, family member…maybe we’ll see all this through human eyes and feel differently.
Jenny needs to go deal with who really hurt her!!
(Ok, I feel better now I've gotten that off my chest.) :)
Wow! This has to be a record for the longest blog comment ever! Lol.. thanks for sharing & visiting. xo
DeleteGuuurrll!I love you!
ReplyDeleteYou were so on point! Im gonna share these now :)
Guuurrllll I love you too.. xo lol
DeleteNice video and seriously chris should be given a break.
DeleteChris Brown has done more for her career than any agent, manager and/or publicist ever done. The witch should bow down
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of Jenny's. In fact, I stopped following her on Twitter about 6 months ago for a joke about a group of people who are victims. I think she's talented, but she often pushes it too far.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with defending Chris Brown is that he remains indefensible. He clearly has rage issues with which he's not dealing, along with issues with women, which Rihanna appears to be enabling. He has the worst attitude of any successful millionaire I've ever seen, and presents himself as ungrateful, childish, boorish and yes, dangerous. Still. I am disappointed any woman would defend him, regardless of Jenny's provocation on Twitter. It's not that the public is incapable of forgiveness. We've forgiven Mike Tyson. We have watched his painful transformation, and believe that he is remorseful and actively working on being at peace, and being a kind human being. Chris Brown is not only unremorseful but takes every opportunity to brag that he hasn't really been punished and that the woman he physically and emotionally assaulted is still hot for him. He has learned NOTHING. Therefore, it is my belief that he hasn't earned the public trust, and he is the last person that deserves to be respected, especially by women. So while Jenny's public tweets probably aren't of any redemptive value, I can work up not one ounce of sympathy for Mr. Brown. As far as I'm concerned, any punishment the universe (even in the form of a Jenny Johnson) can dole out is a reason to celebrate. Any shame that can brought upon Mr. Brown is another opportunity for him to understand the depth of wrong he has done, and the gargantuan size of the mountain of penance he has yet to climb. Most women and most of the public are not going to be satisfied with Chris's words, or the fact that his abused girlfriend has apparently and errantly forgiven him. It will take a genuine change of attitude, a whopping helping of humble pie, and the grace to realize & acknowledge that he may deserve a lot of the powerful and sometimes ugly criticism that's coming his way. And Jenny's right. It's crazy he didn't go to jail. Truth is truth.
I disagree, but thanks for sharing. xo
DeleteHi Kayki,
ReplyDeleteThank you for put out these two videos.
Had Chris Brown been the one to stalk her Twitter for a year or more with comments like "You're a worthless piece of sh*t" etc...The world would have stoned him. He put up with her BS for a year never said anything to her and when he finally hits his limit and curses her out. Oh he's a bad guy again and needs more anger management. But Johnson needs no corrective admonishment. Her cyber bullying is just acceptable. Right I get it now. If I bully her ass until she cries, will I get a pass?
Of course he shouldn't have responded the way he did. He should not have let her drag him down to her guttural level but while I don’t agree with the vulgarity I understand his helplessness and anger. He’s an open target. But let's put ourselves in his shoes for a second. Let's imagine what it feels like to be judged as he has no matter how positive he's tried to be. Johnson is a grown woman with a child is this the behavior her daughter is learning? Perhaps Child services should be involved, but no of course not because it was just a woman bullying a man. (Notice I didn't say a white woman bullying a black man because abuse has no color) But I still find it very interesting that Chris Brown has been made the Poster boy for ALL areas of domestic violence after just ONE physical altercation. I also find the fact that Charlie Sheen who has put his hands on EVERY woman that he has slept with and even THREATENED to kill them, has been given a pass. He still works; he still has his endorsements and even now jokes about his house arrest. Where is Johnson's cyber bullying, picket ranting, vulgar spitting butt? After Mel Gibson was heard on more than ONE tape yelling and screaming racial slurs and was accused of physically abusing his last girlfriend, he was given grief for a millisecond compared to Brown and has since gone on unscathed. Where is Johnson with her disrespect for abusers who aren't remorseful? Where are her abusive words for him? And yes they are abusive, just as her words to Brown were. For that matter where is the World's hate, for them? The hate that some seem so eager to throw Brown’s way?
I get it again. It's just the "special" ones that get a pass. I wonder what the criteria are for that "pass" I might want one someday.
Individuals such as, 'Unknown' are a clear representation of those who fail to research and follow up on what Chris Brown has actually been doing these past four years and only look for the negativity and fallacies reported of him. This person's comments were a perfect example of someone who speaks on something that they proclaim to know, yet have neglected to do the proper research. If you are a fair individual and you follow Chris Brown's progress, then you know that he is not perfect, he is still a young guy trying to figure out himself as well as life in general, and that he has made huge charitable efforts to causes surrounding domestic violence and those who are in need.
ReplyDeleteIt is true, that once a bad taste is put into your mouth about anyone or anything.. everything from that moment and forward, about that person or thing will always leave a bitter taste in your mouth and it will be hard to even try to give it a chance. With that being said, people hate who they want to hate, they pick and choose who they want to give chances and forgiveness to, and they succeed tremendously at hypocrisy, bigotry, and hatred. LOVE people.
For the one's who scream women's rights, and "what if it were your daughter?" antics.... STOP and think "What if it were my son?" The tables would turn instantly, because unless you are a mother incapable of love and forgiveness for your own child.. I highly doubt their answers would involve anything about shunning and disowning their son for ONE mistake that clearly was stemmed from things that happened to him as a child.
I also want to say I like the point the young lady made about how "white society" wants African-Americans to forgive and forget slavery etc. etc, but won't forgive a black man for one mistake he make 4 years ago. Very valid point, although I do not want to make race the central issue..
Thanks, & I loved your videos by the way.
@moisellex
And one last thing. I just absolutely love how Charlie Sheen, and Sean Penn, Glen Campbell and the likes, get passes on their history of REPEATED domestic violence offenses, and are never constantly bashed for their wrong doings. Crazy. If people are going to slaughter on person's character on the daily for their one mistake.. then certainly the ones who've done it more than once should have their character slaughter on a daily too. Be fair about it atleast
ReplyDeleteYou guys are awesome. I love that you speak up for Chris Brown and other guys like us. Some times my girl has a way of getting my blood up, and you know I react like how I react, you know. But I still love her. Sometime, the harder I hit her, the more it means I care. And she knows that. I really messed her face up one time. She took a picture of it, and I realized, 'Damn, that must mean I really love you.' But you guys understand that. You guys are awesome.
ReplyDeleteI believe he meant that to be sarcastic, which is just as annoying.
DeleteWhy are "some" people are always trying to control others thoughts and emotions. Feel how U want to feel, but don't down me for how I feel regarding the same issue. We may be looking at the same thing, but due to life situations and experiences see it differently.
I see a lot of people saying they "hate" and "despise" CB, I wonder how many of them know anything about him beyond what they've been fed by the media. Their hatred runs deep like it's really personal. Makes me question where it's coming from since I doubt any of them know him personally or interacted with him at all.
Control issues...gotta be WHITE!
ReplyDeleteHence my comment below theirs. I guess he thought he was being funny.
ReplyDeleteLast night, someone I follow tweeted this:
Ayesha A. Siddiqi @pushinghoops:
I hope people like Jenny Johnson get whatever publicity they seek, the ceiling for careers built on ignorance and spite is low.
I so agree!!
Eminem, Sean Penn, Alan Jackson, Robbie Williams, John Dennon, Sean Connrey, Christian Slater, Michael Fessbinder, Tracy Lawrence. Jeff Goldblum, Tom Sizemore, Ozzy Osburrne, Daniel Balwin, Tommy Lee, Vinc Neil, Rodney Atkins, Richie Sambora, John McEnrol Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, Andre Agisisi, Glenn Campbell whom got a standing O for getting an award just last month. Yes we all know that Glen Campbell beat Tonya Tucker azz on a regular. Eminem beat his wife Kim until she was hospitalized. Sean Penn I believe beat Madonna with a bat. All these men are white and there's more that has gotton a pass. Chris Brown had one fight with his girlfriend which I believe that picture was photoshoped by TMZ and we never saw a picture of Chris mugshot. Why did the media hide it? Anyway I bet Jenny Johnson would NEVER post anything on these white REAL WOMEN BEATERS with DV issues.
ReplyDeleteOh I forgot Nicolas Cage ^^^ whom beat women
