The TRUTH About @ChrisBrown's New Tattoo: Apologies to Chris & Rih Anyone?

This is long- I apologize, but I hope you will read it all.

Today I woke up to news reports on almost every blog I thought I respected about Chris Brown having tattooed a battered woman on his neck. At first glance of this "new" tattoo I drew a couple of conclusions. My first was how I blogged this last week- old news, I thought. My second realization was how so many entertainment sources jump on each other's stories without doing any research of their own.

I prepared myself for the slander and bashing that would ensue on my timeline on twitter and told myself I wouldnt respond, but my heart and conscience couldnt allow me to sit by as people sent THE most hateful comments to Chris based solely off of their assumptions.. and incorrect assumptions at that. There are some stories even reaching to say the tattoo is of a battered Rihanna.. so as if insulting Chris isn't enough, they felt the need to drag Rihanna into their delusion as well.

Being that I am all for FACT.. I did a little research on this tattoo. I follow Chris on Instagram and clearly remember him liking a piece of art (as he often does)of a very similar image just before he got the tattoo.

After doing more research the image above and that found on Chris' neck is a very familiar one- if you look closely. In the Mexican culture, there is a holiday celebrated called, Day of the Dead -similar to the Christian celebration of "All Saints Day". Now, you can research this indepth if you'd like, but they basically come together to remember the loved one's they've lost. - The reality though- is even my findings are an assumption-only Chris knows what his tatt is of.

There are images, festivals, and unique rituals that are attributed to this occasion. - Some Americanized a bit of course- as we do everything.. but some of this artistry appears to be the inspiration behind Chris' latest tattoo. One search on Google of  "Day of the Dead art woman's face" and BOOM... there is a possible- positive explanation of Chris' new art. Now- what sparked him to get a tattoo of an image reflecting something of what could be considered Mexican heritage, I dont know and honestly.. I don't care. I am not saying it is legit Mexican art- what I AM saying is the resemblance is stronger to these DoD face painting images than a battered woman's face.

It is obvious that this tattoo is only of a battered woman because some people have vowed to make negative EVERYTHING that Chris Brown does, and others just take whatever theyre given.

As a blogger I urge my fellow media outlets to be very careful of the hatred you perpetuate in titles/blogs. You reach a lot of people in one instant. People, who find you a reputable source even when YOU know you simply took a story from another source without doing your own research. I pray for the people who jumped to a state of hateful energy from an assumption. This isn't meant to bash any other blog/blogger/person.. please receive it in the spirit it was given, which was simply observation and respect.

I do wonder how many of  you will be bold enough to recant/apologize to Chris, Rihanna, myself (yes even attempts to insult me were made), and others who they attacked for not jumping on the latest "lets bash Chris Brown bandwagon". You know, there was a lot of positive news to come out about Chris in the past couple of weeks. Charity work that he has done low key for years has come forward. I never saw the regular CB bashers congratulate any of that. It's sad that people are so quick to promote/respond to negativity- and based on assumption at that.
People remember.. bad decisions are made everyday by young people. It does not mean they are evil or bad for forever. It is in your power to share positivity and love in this world. It is in your power to forgive. You are not perfect and to expect perfection from anybody is unrealistic.

Team Breezy you choose what information you will share about your fave celebrity. Some of you love to RT/share the negative stories and it's hard as heck sometimes to get people to share my positive ones. Im not saying that so you'll big up my blog. While I appreciate it, my promotion comes from God.. but the fact still remains- energy flows where attention goes. If you'll share as much positivity to/about Chris and ignore the negative- there are enough of you to outshine the B.S. You all have a blessed day. xo

Other Examples of Day of the Dead Face Art- Notice the darkened eye, swirls on face, and very common stitched lip effect.. also seen on Chris' tattoo commemorating the appearance of death or skeleton.

  1. tbh, its a tasteless tattoo. Idk why he'd get a tattoo that looks like that on his neck. What meaning or special reason does it have to him? It's not his culture, it doesn't correlate with his artwork, its not his background.. why? I solely believe IT IS NOT RIHANNA. But he's dumb for getting a tattoo that looks like a battered woman, and more so, similar to the bruises she had on her face. I just don't see the point of getting a pointless tattoo, esp when it looks like that... he knows people thinks he's a woman beater. what's the point of getting a tattoo that directly looks like that. I LOVE CHRIs... but this was dumb.

    1. & I TOTALLY respect an "I hate the tattoo" opinion. I have NO CLUE why he got it lol & I don't like it either, but to send him hate bc of an interpretation is that ish I also don't like. Lol xo

    2. it's pointless to you but it may not be to him. if you were to ask him i am sure he can give you a story for each and every tattoo his has... as i am sure their is a reason and a story for this as well. i think what you fail to understand is it is his body and he is free to get whatever he wants on him. his culture.... his artwork.... his background.... what honestly do you know of that? you've gotten snippets of him but you don't know the full him.... as an artist i can speak and say not every piece of artwork will be the same or be in the same theme..... so you can't base this solely on not seeing this in his artwork.... it only looks like a battered woman because that's what you want it to look like....

  5. I don't like the tattoo because it's permanent and represents Death or Dawn of the Dead but mayb he did because he was born on may 5th.. Cinco de mayo a Mexican holiday .. Idk I need him to explain because as an artist, ur art should have a meaning and I'm not sure what it means. - @MarshayH

    1. Well if you research what it means to the people of that culture, it takes away our negative Americanized view of the images. I dont really think he owes us an explanation further, but I understand if you do. xo

  7. I never believed he actually went to the tattoo artist and asked for Rihanna's beaten face as a tattoo, that would display a level of idiocy and cruelty that no person I would hope is capable of, even Chris Brown. However, that tattoo looks like Rihanna's beaten face, there is no denying it. It may not have started out like that, but that's the facts of it. How no-one in his management took a look at the sketch and reminded him that outside his deluded 14 year old girl fanbase the rest of the world will always define him not by his terrible music but by the heinous act of violence he committed on a young 19 year old, and that just maybe getting a tattoo of a woman's face with a blacked out eye is one of the stupidest ideas anyone has ever had ever. And saying it's down to interpretation, come on, it's not a Dali abstract or an ink splodge, it's quite clearly a womans face with a blacked out eye and marks on the lip. It's not exactly a leap to the terrible image we all saw of Rihanna's face after he beat her almost unconscious. Defend him all you want, I hope that you never have to experience the horror of domestic violence and understand how truly stupid you look defending him.

    1. Nope not really. Oh, and having a low opinion of someone that beat a 19 year old girl almost unconscious, yeah, I stand by that. So does the rest of sane Planet Earth. That's not a stance that makes anyone look stupid.

    2. Thanks for visiting my site. Fortunately for me Ive spent 3 long and fun years maintaining the positive and encouraging energy on here, so when people like you stumble on with your negativity - it barely means anything. It's obvious to me from certain phrases that you just hate Chris- and that is a way bigger issue than you trying to come for me on my site. I hope you learn to deal. xo

    4. You seem like a nice person, and good for you for being positive, but be careful it isn't naive. The standard reaction to anyone saying negative things about CB from fans is this typical oh well you just hate him, you're a negative person, your life must be so negative and hate filled. Well no, that's not true, I, and many people who criticize CB are very positive loving people, which is why we are so infuriated and angry when we see someone who performed such a hateful viscous act as he did being idolised. It's not from a general place of hate and negativity, and I have not "come after" you, you have written a public article demanding an apology from people who have been rightly upset by his actions. I work with victims of domestic violence and I know the terrible impact it has on people's lives. It never goes away, the victims serve a life sentence. It's nice for you and the other fans that you can gloss over this, but you don't live in the real world.

    5. This will be my last comment to you because this is not an area on which we can agree upon. I too have worked with/know many victims of domestic violence. If you think me giving facts about a tattoo is in any way "glossing over" their plight, you've got me totally wrong.

It is one thing to state a fact which is that Chris Brown was in a violent altercation with Rihanna and we've seen photographs of her face.. it is a totally different thing to color the fact up with insults to his undeniable talent & supportive fan base (see your original post).

You absolutely "came for me" by insulting me and calling me stupid. Now- this is where I as a Christian have my biggest reason to pray for the people who are absolutely coming from a place of hate.

In your moment of insulting me or Chris or his fans, you're no better than he was the night he assaulted Rihanna. It's all hatred in the eyes of God. I have seen domestic violence first hand.. I don't need any lessons on how the victims deal. My point in writing this public article was to clarify that people like you who continue to insult BOTH CB & Rihanna (again) off of any little thing that happens maybe should take a moment, step off of your perfect high horses and think for a minute. Thanks for sharing. xo
