Update on Trayvon Martin case expected Friday

Be on the lookout for a news conference in a few days that proclaims to have new information regarding the murder of Trayvon Martin by a neighborhood watch volunteer, George Zimmerman. On Tuesday, Zimmerman's attorneys announced they no longer can represent him because he has not contacted them in days. But wait, it gets worse...

On Monday, Zimmerman posted a website, TheRealGeorgeZimmerman.com, soliciting PayPal donations for his living and defense expenses (above is a screenshot of the webpage). He thanks his supporters in a message, but doesn't have the guts to appear on TV. As of now, only his relatives, friends, and attorneys have spoken for him. Attorneys say Zimmerman is no longer in Florida.

"I am the real George Zimmerman," a message on his site begins. "On Sunday, February 26, I was involved in a life altering event which led me to become the subject of intense media coverage. As a result of the incident and subsequent media coverage, I have been forced to leave my home, my school, my employer, my family and ultimately, my entire life. This website's sole purpose is to ensure my supporters they are receiving my full attention without any intermediaries."

Zimmerman's attorneys still contend the 28 year old acted in self defense in the murder of 17-year-old Martin, who was unarmed. In Martin's neighborhood on Tuesday, six shots were fired into an empty police cruiser, signifying Sanford had become a hotbed of hostility. No one was injured, and the Sanford police are conducting an investigation. The Martin shooting has spawned outrage in the black community with protests and demands that Zimmerman be arrested for murder. Zimmerman asserts the shooting had nothing to do with race, and that he was acting in self defense after Martin knocked him down, slammed his head into the ground and went after Zimmerman's gun.

You know what they say, it gets worse before it gets better...
