This doesnt surprise me one bit. It actually is the way I assumed it worked out. In light of Rihanna and Chris Brown's 2 new collaborations everybody wants to understand why it had to happen. The Dream who is responsible for writing some of the biggest hits of the past few years, has worked with Rihanna many times. He is the writer of the record Birthday Cake that Chris Brown recently remixed with her.
Naturally the Dream would be one person who's opinion matters to some as it was his song that the two remixed together. Also their (Dream and Rihanna) interactions on twitter and long history leads one to assume that the friendship is real. So his opinion wouldn't just be that of someone who doesn't know the two personally.
Dream appeared yesterday with the homie Sway on MTV RapFix Live he opened up on how he felt about the collaboration and how it came about.
On their relationship and him supporting her decision:
At the end of the day, she's my friend, so whatever she wants to do is whatever she wants to do.
On how she told him what she was going to do:
I think I'm gonna put Chris on it" Dream says he replied, "I don't know which Chris you talkin' about, [but] OK, cool, whatever you say,"
On her decision:
"She's pretty smart too. The same questions that went through my mind, and I'm an artist also, had to have gone through hers..When she raised the question to me, I know she's not crazy. So my thought was you've been thinking about this, you've already thought it out, so evidently you know what reaction you gonna get."On the public outrage:
"Don't say you know how to forgive when you don't. Everybody knows what took place, cool. Have the power to really forgive if that's what it is. If not, stay on that side of the fence from the beginning..It's easy to kinda throw Chris under the bus all the time, but c'mon, man. OK, we get it,"
Dream told Sway that Rihanna gave him enough heads up to prepare for any backlash, but ultimately it was all her doing and her decision. Chris and Rihanna are still pubbing the heck out of their collaborations. Meanwhile Chris' girlfriend is laying low.....
The Dream is currently working on a tour just announced on twitter! This dude is extremely talented..I'm sure it will be a hit show. He just released his grown up video for his grown up record Roc..check it out below.
