Adele flips the bird at British music awards ceremony

After winning two awards Tuesday at the UK's Brit Music Awards ceremony, songstress Adele made an obscene gesture when her acceptance speech was cut short. Seems rather unbecoming of Adele, still on a high after winning big at the Grammy Awards.

Adele won album of the year and best British female solo artist during the ceremony, according to a London Associated Press report. Her sophomore album "21" won six Grammys last week and has sold more than six million copies in the United States alone. But, she had to undergo vocal cord surgery in November to fix a potentially career-threatening throat condition.

When her second award acceptance speech was cut short, Adele made the gesture out of frustration and later apologized. "I'm sorry if I offended anyone but it was the suits that offended me," she said. "Thank you all very much and thanks to my fans. I don't want them to think I was swearing at them."
The show's broadcaster, ITV, issued a statement apologizing to Adele for cutting her off.
"We regret this happened and we send deepest apologies to Adele that her big moment was cut short tonight due to the live show over-running," ITV said.
I wonder what would have happened if she did that during the Grammys!
