While we remained fixated on the 5.9 magnitude earthquake in Virginia that impacted the east coast Tuesday afternoon, the strongest earthquake to strike Colorado in more 40 years happened Monday.
The Earthquake Center reported Tuesday at least 11 earthquakes in Colorado since Monday evening. Most have been minor aftershocks following the 5.3-magnitude earthquake that hit around 11:46 p.m. Monday. That earthquake shook southern Colorado near the New Mexico border.
