Rapper TI is finally home after what was meant to be an 11 month stint in prison for violation of his probation.  He was reportedly released early this morning from a prison in Arkansas & probably will be serving the remainder of his time on house arrest.

Terius Nash (The Dream) Releases Free Album "Shots Fired" I mean.. 1977

From the door this album is way too much for the listener. Considering all he's been through in his personal life the listener is going to immediately think SHOTS FIRED. Fired at any one of his ex wives- Nivea or Christina Milian..sad but true. In the first song on the album he talks about a woman changing and not keeping up what she started once she's married to him.  The title track 1977 is a dedication to his deceased mother, its very touching.

I was sent to youtube to watch a video of this little girl talking about being married before having a job. Yes, the same video I posted a few days ago. I thought it was SO cute & funny! I noticed though that the video was posted on another account..that of the little girl's big sister Anna Graceman. After a little investigation I realized that  Id stumbled upon something really special. Anna's voice & writing ability is showcased from 6 years old all the way to today.

According to her a couple of nights ago a cop pulled a weapon out on her for no reason. Solange was heated as she very well should have been. I always get so tickled by Kanye's singing! He's so serious with it. He seemed to be coming from the heart on this video though. Its like he had a lot to get out In what sounds like a real heartfelt call out to love lost, Kanye goes on a forever long freestyle  unlike you've ever heard before. He talks about letting love go & not taking off work.  After the first listen I thought could he be talking to the girl he made famous while dating - Amber Rose?!? Hmm... Aaliyah Dana Haughton (January 16, 1979 – August 25, 2001)

I cant believe its been 10 years since the tragic loss of one of music's most beloved. I still remember the day all too well. Driving on the express way w/ my entire family & my sisters voice saying, "Oh my God." We all stopped only to get the news that Aaliyah had passed away in a plane crash. All of us were devastated, from my parents on down. So young & beautiful, and right at the cusp of what was sure to be her career taking off into the stratosphere. We were dumbfounded.

Below is a video of her just days before she died. The legendary BET duo AJ & Free had the pleasure of speaking with her just before she went off to shoot the video for "Rock the Boat". As we all know she never made it from that shoot.

There are many things in life we wont understand & for that reason we have to learn to take the good with the bad. What is fact is that Aaliyah brought light & love to this world. She left us great memories & music to forever cherish. My prayers go up for her family, friends, & fans today. May she continue to Rest in Love.

Earthquake rocks southern Colorado

Toxicology reports Released for Amy Winehouse's death

WOW...so many people were absolutely sure that Amy who'd struggled with substance abuse for years had od'd last month when she was found dead in her apartment. Im going to be honest, it was my first thought as well. I think it broke all of our hearts to think she went out that way. Her father had been adamant though that Amy had kicked her drug habit a good 3YEARS earlier, though recent video footage of the deceased starlet may have suggested otherwise.

Question of the Day: Will & Jada Smith Separate- Why is everbody freaking out?

So according to In Touch Weekly & their "insider"...one of our favorite couples Will & Jada have separated. The two have been together for about 13 years and are the epitome of a strong holywood marriage in the eyes of many. They both are exceptionally talented & successful. A success, which has obviously been transferred down to their incredible & beloved kids Willow & Jaden.

Now their publicist has yet to confirm anything that this "insider" revealed, but my question is why is everybody freaking out?! Marriage is a lifetime commitment. Ish HAS to be hard to do. Its not a divorce its a separation which I believe could very well be necessary after 13 years of marriage for some couple. As perfect as we have portrayed them to be, they are human beings with impacted lives just like us. Instead of jumping to the conclusion that this is it for them, lets hope this supposed separation is a time for refreshing & rekindling between the two. Im rooting for them with the rest of the world.

RIL: Nick Ashford, "Solid as a Rock!"

At the age of 70, one-half of the legendary Motown songwriting duo Ashford & Simpson, has died today. Nick Ashford's publicist told the AP the artist died in a New York City hospital. He had been suffering from throat cancer and undergone radiation treatment.

KayKi- Money Jay..you are definitely creating..well I dont want to say a buzz because a buzz is minimal to me, but theres hype. How long has this road been for you?


Money Jay- Im 25 right now. I started seriously when I was like 20.  Thats when I started dropping mixtapes. Ive always had a home fan base in Decatur. Just my streets. My streets- Candler Road, Glenwood, Wesley Chapel- all that. Every time I dropped a tape theyd be waiting on it. I just started branching out. I started taking it real seriously when me and Akon got together.


 KayKi- I hear that Akon had to do some pulling to get you on his team?! Is that true that you were not really trying to get on?

OK Magazine claims Beyonce is the biggest spender in Hollywood followed closely by Oprah. Im not sure how they come up with these things, but ok.  It is reported that Bey spent $32000 in one hour while in London. They also mention the $2mil Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport ride she bought Jay for his bday last year. I see absolutely nothing wrong or even strange with this. Its not really trickin' if youve got it, and something makes me think she does.

S1 is incredible. He has been in the game for a bit, but lately he's been banging out some game changing records.

RIL: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Taylor Armstrong's Husband Commits Suicide

Wow. This is so sad. Just a month after Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Taylor Armstrong filed for divorce from her banker & venture capitalist husband Russell Armstrong, he was found (Monday) hanging in his home. It is an apparent suicide.  Talylor claimed that Russell had been abusive to her for years which is what led to her filing for divorce.

Many from Bravo both producers & cast members have been tweeting and sending out their deepest condolences to the Armstrong family. Russell leaves behind a beautiful little girl, Kennedy as well as a host of other family members & friends. He was 47.

Clear Channel's iHeartRadio Festival to celebrate their digital radio systems has pulled like every single major artist alive. Its insane this line up. Jay Z was just announced as the closer of the evening as a solo act. Oddly, he will not be performing with Kanye even though they have a number one album out together right now. 

The show hosted by Ryan Seacrest will be held at MGM Grand in Vegas on the 23-24. The line up also includes Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Rascall Flatts, Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Janes Addiction, and EVERYBODY else who is hitting right now! I know, sounds like an amazing show & you really wanna go right?! Well hopefully you got your tickets because after 10 minutes on sale to the public.. they sold out! lol

So  I told yall a few weeks ago with the Verse Simmonds interview that Akon & Konvict Muzik was in no way playing with us this year. Akon has a roster of artist ready to take over pretty much every genre of music you like. I had the pleasure of sitting down with his West Coast representa Ya Boy aka YB in a brief interview a few days ago. His single Lock Down is murdering the radio airwaves here in Atlanta & from what I hear across the nation. It rides so hard I turn it up everytime it comes on. I didnt know what to expect from him though. So I went prepared for anything.


 He walked in pierced & tatted up, Cali swagged out. From the onset he looked like a rockstar more than a rapper, but his energy was mad cool. He made this interview way easy. Check it below.

KayKi- So  I was trying to figure out where the name YB came from??

YB- My cousin gave me that name when I was younger because everybody loved me & everybody was cool with me. They didnt know my name. He was more popular & he had a group. I was just his lil cousin but everybody was like, "man where ya boy at?". It just stuck w/ me. He was like, "That needs to be your name, 'Ya Boy', cause you got what everybody need & everybody mess w/ you." So, thats how I got the name.

KayKi- Thats whats up! At that time was it a stage name? Were you trying to get into the game at that time?

YB- Yea it was pretty much a rap name.. I went through a few of em (lol)

Stage Collapses at Sugarland Concert-At least 4 dead

At the Indiana Fair tonight, Sugarland brought out a slew of fans to listen to them perform their many chart topping hits. What the crowd didnt anticipate was the high gusty wind storm's strength. Unfortunately the entire stage collapsed on to a crowd of fans killing at least 4 people & injuring many more. Below is a startling video of the actual collapse. Sugarland had not yet taken the stage. Wow.

Ok.. this is Jay Z & Kanye West. They pretty much have the pick of the litter when it comes around to who they want on their album. Of course they went for the seasoned heavy hitters, Swizz, Hitboy, RZA, & even Yeezy to deliver an epic record on the production tip, but they also brought on some babies in the game.. and these guys are the standouts!

I recently sat & talked with Verse Simmonds of the Jugganauts & he didnt even mention that he had work on Watch the Throne! LOL Talk about hush humility..... also repping in this video are Lex Luger VA producer responsible for the infamous H.A.M. record, & Southside.. straight out of GA. Kudos to these guys.. this is a great look!

Its obvious that WTT's exclusive release on iTunes was a genius move. The album which did not leak was released at midnight and by mid day it was reported #1 in every country! & is projected to do 400000-500000 units first week out. Thats second only to Lady Gaga's album this year. Mayjerr.

AnthonyQ Formerly of Day 26 Releases Video for Medicine

Q is probably most popular for being the youngest & most outspoken member of  Diddy's Making The Band male group Day 26. From the beginning he stood out because he can sing his TAIL off, but also because he wasnt afraid to be honest about how he felt.

Needless to say Q left the group & released a couple of mixtapes. Now he's going by AnthonyQ and recently released this video of one of my faves from his sophomore mixtape, Guitar Her. Gavin DeGraw Hospitalized after Attack in NY

Ok so his jam, I Dont Wanna Be was my soooong. Unfortunately he was hospitalized Monday night. Reportedly he has a broken nose & lacerations to his face. According to E, no arrests have been made just yet, but he is still in the hospital for treatment. Sucks. Hope he gets well soon. Dont know the song.. of course I posted it after the jump.

Big Boi Arrested in Miami for Ecstacy & Viagra??

yesterday for posession of ecstacy, mdma powder, viagra & other drug
paraphernalia. He was charged w/ illegal possession of those drugs.
His bond is set at $16000. Seriously..? This comes on the wings of an

Last night Jay & Yeezy indulged a few very lucky friends, family members, & media sources with an exclusive listen at Watch the Throne set to be out on 8.8. According to reports they had a pretty interesting crowd: QTip, Busta Rhymes, DJ Khaled & more.

Held at the Natural Museum of History, the crowd got to hear every track from the album! Among them a feature from Mrs. Carter..Beyonce,  called "Lift Off".  The production on the album alone is insane: S1, Swizz, RZA, & others all got their opportunity to work on this historical album!

Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords Makes Bold Return!

"I had to be here for this vote..I could not take the chance that my absence could crash our economy." 

This was the bold statement made by AZ Rep. Gabby Giffords as she made a triumphant return to Congress yesterday to vote. As you may recall, she was the target of a terroristic plot executed back in January. Giffords was shot in the head while six others lost their lives & 12 others were wounded.
