Salute Black History: Serena Williams

Serena Williams is a house hold name..Id venture to say around the world. Not yet 30.. Serena will go down in the history books for many reasons. She not only holds records as the first Black woman to accomplish many achievements, but as the first woman/person to do them as well.

In 2002 Serena was ranked #1 in the world in a sport that you'd barely see a black face playing- let alone being the best at. She is the reigning champion in singles at Wimbledon & in womens doubles at the French Open. Along with many other accomplishments Serena is the only player in most recent history to have held all four Grand Slam singles titles at the same time..and the fifth woman in history to ever do that. I could go on and on about her accomplishments, but I really dont have the time lol..

I appreciate Serena for what she represents not just for Black women, but for women period. She's set records, remained focused, generous, and fly of course... Love her!
